Why it's built

The chat is your front room. Default gray is a brand leak.

You spent real effort on the look of your site, your portfolio, your conference page. Then a chat widget lands in the corner wearing someone else's clothes.

bespoke links live in different rooms. The link in your portfolio bio wants to look like your portfolio. The conference room wants the event's identity. The support link embedded in your product wants your product's accent, not ours. One global theme can't be right in all those places, which is why theming is per link, not per account.

And because a chat surface is mostly bubbles and type, a little styling goes a long way: the accent color alone re-keys the whole room. Custom CSS exists for the moments you want to go further, with a live preview so you always save what you actually saw.

Things people ask.

Can my CSS affect the site hosting the embed?+

No. Custom CSS applies inside the chat surface only, and it's sanitized on save and again on render. The host page and the launcher button are out of reach on purpose.

Can I break the chat with bad CSS?+

You'd have to try twice: the live preview shows exactly what you're about to save, and resetting to the accent-only look is always one click away.

Why does the embed button only follow the accent?+

The launcher lives on someone else's page, where a fully custom button would eventually fight the host site's styles. Accent-only is the truce: yours, but polite.

Do themes change how anything works?+

No. Theming is paint. Isolation, history, push notifications, and every behavior are identical under any theme.
