Terms of Service

The rules for using bespoke, in plain language. If anything here is unclear, ask: abuse@bespoke.talk.

The short version

  • bespoke gives people labeled chat links that anyone can open without an account.
  • It is not a place for anything illegal: no illegal trade, no harassment or stalking, no sexual content involving minors. Ever.
  • Conversations are stored securely, handled by automated systems, and read by no one at bespoke going about their day. Pseudonymous between people is not the same as untraceable: records are disclosed when the law requires.
  • Break the rules and we revoke links, delete conversations, and ban accounts, and we cooperate with law enforcement where the law requires.
  • See something wrong? abuse@bespoke.talk.
01

Agreeing to these terms

bespoke is the service at bespoke.talk, operated from Singapore. These Terms apply to everyone who uses it: people with an account, and people who open a chat through a link without one. Any use of bespoke means you accept these Terms. If you don't accept them, don't use bespoke.

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age your local law requires if that is higher. If you use bespoke on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have the authority to agree for it.

02

What bespoke is

An account holder creates labeled chat links (for example "Work" or "Personal") and shares them anywhere. Anyone who opens a link starts a private chat with that person, with no account and no sign-up. Each link keeps its conversations separate: people from one link never see people from another.

To the account holder, the person who opened the chat appears pseudonymous: no name, no profile, nothing to block. The account holder keeps the transcript until they delete it. The person who opened the chat can close the tab and walk away, and can return once with a one-time link if they saved it.

03

Your account

  • An email address is optional. An account works without one. Add an email and a password, and you unlock the extras: password resets, ordinary log-in, and a way back in if you ever lose your secret dashboard link. Account notices go to that address, if there is one.
  • You are responsible for your account and your links. Keep your password and dashboard link private. You can revoke any link, mute or delete any conversation, at any time.
04

Rules

Don't use bespoke to break the law or hurt people. This list gives examples; it is not exhaustive, and "the Terms didn't name it exactly" is not a defense:

  • Illegal trade. Offering or arranging to buy or sell anything illegal: drugs, weapons, stolen payment cards or card data, counterfeit documents, hacked accounts or stolen data.
  • Fraud. Scams, phishing, or deceiving anyone about who you are or what you're offering.
  • Harassment. Stalking, threatening, blackmail, extortion, sexual harassment, or publishing someone's private information (doxxing). A chat being anonymous to the other person does not make it anonymous to the law.
  • Impersonation. Pretending to be a real person or organization you are not.
  • Malware. Distributing viruses, ransomware, or other harmful code or files.
  • Abuse of the service. Spam, automated flooding, trying to get around rate limits or captchas, or attacking our infrastructure.

Zero tolerance: sexual content involving minors. None, in any form, in any chat. We terminate the conversation and the account, preserve every record we hold, and cooperate fully with law enforcement where the law requires it. "I didn't know their age" is not a defense.

05

Enforcement

We run the guardrails that keep bespoke usable:

  • Rate limits on new chats, per link and per network.
  • A human-verification challenge (click captcha) when new accounts are created.
  • Account-holder controls: revoke a link, mute or delete a conversation, at any time.
  • Our own action: suspension or termination of accounts, revocation of links, and deletion of conversations when we believe these rules were broken. This is at our discretion.

We don't pre-screen messages, and no automated system catches everything. Enforcement is a right we exercise, not a promise of a clean result. When something slips through, the next section is how it gets to us.

06

Leaving, and being asked to leave

You can stop using bespoke at any time. Account holders can revoke links and delete conversations whenever they like.

We'd rather never do this, but we need the ability: if an account, a link, or a conversation is causing harm, creating legal risk, or making bespoke worse for the people using it, we may suspend it or end it. This isn't limited to the rules in section 4; deciding something doesn't belong on bespoke is enough. When it's practical, we'll tell you why.

If we end a conversation, its one-time return link stops working with it. Ending access in these situations isn't a breach of these Terms, and we aren't liable for it.

07

Reporting abuse

Email abuse@bespoke.talk. Include the bespoke link or URL you have, what happened, and screenshots if you can. We review every credible report and can revoke links, delete conversations, and ban accounts.

If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number first. bespoke is not an emergency service.

When we look into a report, we preserve the records connected to it.

08

How conversations are stored

The point of bespoke is that the account holder keeps their conversations. To make that work, the service stores them: encrypted in transit, handled by automated systems. Nobody at bespoke reads what people send. Conversation content is accessed only when handling an abuse report, or when the law compels it. The full inventory lives in the Privacy Policy.

Messages
Stored so the account holder's inbox keeps the conversation until they delete it.
Connection records
For security and abuse handling: the IP addresses that connected to a chat, and when. Kept for the conversation's lifetime, deleted with it.
Link metadata
Labels, creation and revocation times, view and chat counters.
Account data
Your email address, if you gave one, and the credentials that secure the account (stored only in hashed or encrypted form).

Pseudonymous is not untraceable. The two sides of a chat can't see each other's identity, and bespoke doesn't ask people who open a chat for a name. Records like the ones above exist for as long as the conversation exists. Deleting a conversation removes it and its connection records from the service; copies can persist in backups and logs until those cycle out, and we don't use them to bring a deleted conversation back.

Legal process. When we receive a valid subpoena, court order, warrant, or other legally binding request from a competent authority (in Singapore, or elsewhere through the proper international channels), we review it and comply. We may preserve records while a request is being processed. For reports involving minors, section 4 applies.

We don't sell your data, and we don't run ads against it.

09

Your content

Everything you send is yours. You give us a limited license to store, transmit, and display your content only as needed to run bespoke: delivering messages, showing conversations to the right person, keeping the service working. We claim no ownership of your content and never sell it.

10

Third parties

bespoke runs on standard, open messaging protocols (XMPP). Some people join their chats with external apps, and files they exchange pass through the messaging server's file transfer. Those apps and services have their own terms; we don't control them and aren't responsible for them.

11

Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". bespoke is built by a small team: features change or break, links get revoked, and parts of the service may be suspended or stopped. We don't promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, and no filter or enforcement system catches everything.

12

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for what users send or do to each other. Our total liability for any claim is capped at SGD 100, or everything you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, whichever is higher. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that the law says can't be limited (for example liability for fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence).

13

Indemnity

If your use of bespoke breaks the law or these Terms, and that causes us claims, investigations, or costs, you're responsible for them to the extent you caused them.

14

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. The effective date at the top changes with each update, and material changes get a note on the changelog. If you keep using bespoke after an update takes effect, you accept the new version.

15

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where your local consumer-protection law gives you a mandatory right to sue somewhere else.
