The reply box is on screen when Chats opens on a phone
- fixed On mobile, opening a conversation put the bottom of the reply box just below the screen: you had to scroll down to start typing, because the page sized itself against the browser's largest possible height instead of the height actually visible while the address bar was showing. Chats now fits the visible screen exactly, with the reply box flush against the bottom edge from the moment it loads.
On a phone, opening a conversation in Chats could start you off slightly scrolled down: the bottom of the reply box sat just below the screen, and you had to swipe up before you could type.
The culprit was a subtle browser behavior. Phones report two heights: the largest possible viewport (with the address bar hidden) and the smaller one you actually see while the bar is showing. The page was sizing itself against the largest one, so by the time the browser was done laying things out, the content stood a little taller than the visible screen, and whatever sat at the very bottom, the reply box, fell off the fold.
Chats now sizes itself against the height actually visible, and keeps doing so as the address bar collapses and expands. The reply box is flush against the bottom edge from the moment the conversation opens.
