Send images and files in chat
- new You can unlock file uploads per conversation. "Allow files" opens a 15-minute window that the person you are chatting with can ask you to extend.
- new Once unlocked, they can attach images, PDFs and common documents right from the chat, on your site's embed or the standalone page.
Chat that can only carry words makes people paste links to elsewhere. This release gave conversations files, with a permission model that keeps you in control: file sharing starts locked, per conversation.
You unlock it with "Allow files", which opens a fifteen-minute window. The person you are chatting with can ask you to extend it when they need more time, and you decide. Nothing is ever shared without that switch being on.
Within a window they can attach images, PDFs, and common documents right from the chat, from your site's embed or the standalone page, and what they send renders inline (see "Chat images display inline" for how that grew).
