Replies that reach people back

  • new After someone sends their first message, they see a one-time line under it offering to push your replies to them, even with the tab closed. It appears once per visit and never nags.
  • fixed Reopening a chat (from the embed's open-in-a-tab, or a saved link) once again shows the private return link under the header. It had stopped appearing on that page.

Chat is only useful if your replies arrive, and your side of the conversation has a weakness: the person messaging you is on a web page, and web pages close. If they closed the tab, your reply waited unseen until they happened to come back.

Under the sender's first message, a one-time line offering to push replies to them

After someone sends their first message, they now see a one-time line under it offering to push your replies to them. If they accept, your replies reach their phone or browser like any notification, whether the tab is open, backgrounded, or fully closed. The offer appears once per visit and never nags.

The same release fixed a small betrayal: the private return link, the bookmark that lets them come back to the conversation, had stopped appearing on the page they landed on after opening the chat in its own tab. It is back where it belongs, right under the header.
