Notify me, pinned where you can find it

  • improved The Notify me button was easy to miss: it sat in a left-hand row among quiet text, and on phones it could wrap out of sight. It now anchors to the top-right of the chat header and the right edge of the slim bar, and a second, fuller "Notify me when [name] replies" prompt sits just above where you type. The prompt disappears once you've enabled notifications (or dismissed it), leaving the green On button in the header.

Senders can ask to be notified when you reply: a "Notify me" button in the chat, which sets up a push notification so they hear back even after closing the tab. Useful, and easy to miss: the button used to sit in a left-hand row among quiet text, and on phones it could wrap out of sight entirely.

It now lives where your eye goes first. On desktop it anchors to the top-right of the chat header; on the phone's slim header bar it pins to the right edge. And because a header button can still be overlooked when you're mid-conversation, a second, fuller prompt ("Notify me when [name] replies") appears just above the box where you type, phrased for the moment you're waiting for an answer.

Once notifications are on (or the prompt is dismissed), both extras get out of the way and what remains is the green "On" button in the header, showing the state at a glance.
