Branded link previews

  • improved Sharing any bespoke link now unfurls a preview card with the headline and the link itself on it. Every page carries previews now, including the private return link the person you're chatting with can save.

Sharing your chat link used to be a leap of faith for the recipient: a bare URL, no hint of what it was or who it belonged to. Now every bespoke link unfurls into a small preview card in iMessage, WhatsApp, Slack, X, and anywhere else previews render.

The card carries your link's label as its headline, so "Alice · Work" reads as Alice, not as a mystery domain, plus one line describing what the link does. Previews render for every surface now, including the private return link the person you are chatting with can save, so even that bookmark looks like something when they find it again next week.

Previews are built into the page itself, server-side, because the apps drawing those cards do not run scripts; there is nothing for you to configure.
