A warning before you sign out without a password
- new If you use bespoke through your secret dashboard link and have no password on your account, signing out now asks first. The reminder explains that the link is the only way back in (there's no email to recover it with) and offers to set a password before you leave. Accounts with an email+password login still sign out instantly.
There are two ways to have a bespoke account: with an email and password, or through the secret dashboard link alone. The second kind has no recovery path: the link is the only way back in, and there is no email to send a reset to.
Signing out used to be instant either way, which was fine for password accounts and risky for link-only ones: one stray click on a shared computer and the bookmark-less sender of that link is locked out of their own account.
If your account has no password, signing out now asks first. The reminder explains that the link is the only way back, and offers to set a password before you leave, which converts the account to the recoverable kind on the spot. Accounts with an email+password login still sign out instantly, no extra step.
